Catch up with all the action with results, reports and dozens of photos from the event.

There are also reports and pictures from the final round of the Premier Calendar, where an old favourite wrapped up the title. And if you haven’t already seen it, have a look at the great photo feature on the recent Individual Cycle Speedway Championships – it’s physical and spectacular stuff!

CYCLE 2004

Cycle 2004, the International Cycle Show, takes place from September 23 – 26 at the Business Design Centre in Islington and opens each day from 10 am. Thursday, the first day is designed exclusively for trade and media and the general public visit from September 24 – 26. For more details of what to expect and a comprehensive list of exhibitors visit the web site: http://www.cycleshow.co.uk You can also book in advance and save £2 on the admission price on the door via the web site or by calling the ticket hotline: 0870 126 1791. As well as the widest selection of products that are currently available, visitors will have the opportunity of gaining a glimpse into the future. It is customary at this time of the year for manufacturers, of both global and niche brands, to unveil to the trade what new lines they have on offer for 2005. A whole raft of trade shows take place across Europe to achieve this objective and visitors to Cycle 2004 can benefit from the timing to gain a preview of what they can expect to find in stores in 2005. Some 200 brands will be at the show and it is a veritable Aladdin’s cave for cycle enthusiasts - a compelling mix of products and services - brands, bikes and accessories - that will appeal equally to the competitive road and off-roaders as well as leisure cyclists, commuters and youngsters who just ride for fun. Established global brands such as Mongoose, GT, Scott, Specialized and Trek stand side by side with new entrants to the UK market like Fuji, Koga Miyata and Guru.

SOUND ADVICE ON CLUB WEBSITES

This sound advice was recently issued by the NW Division to all its clubs – we endorse it:
It has come to our attention that a number of cycling clubs in the North West Division are operating unmoderated forums as part of their websites. In a number of instances posts have been made on such forums by users who do not use their real names and which contain derogatory remarks about others. Such remarks could be seen by some as libellous. Allowing such activity only serves to bring bad publicity on both the club and the sport of cycling in the North West area. I would strongly encourage all clubs to operate only moderated forums on their websites, where the content of posts can be checked by a responsible person before publication. PLEASE TAKE ACTION NOW to avoid the possibility of your club becoming involved in legal actions resulting from material posted on your forums and websites.

COMPETITIVE ENDURANCE

Marin Dusk til Dawn http://www.marindusktildawn.co.uk

The Marin Dusk 'til Dawn has run successfully for the last two years. The event is the brainchild of Chipps Chippendale and Ken Ward. The event lasts 12hrs starting at 8pm running through to 8am.  The race sits somewhere between the Enduro 6 and the SSMM 24hr in terms of endurance. As Thetford is relatively flat with miles of Single track its an ideal first time solo race and suits single speeders. The turn out last year was very impressive at almost 334 riders. There were some impressive lap times and the atmosphere was great. The highlight has to be as the sunrises and you’er settling into your last few laps.
