Halesowen Friday
Night Track League News
It is
anticipated that the Friday Night Track League at Halesowen A&CC, Manor
Abbey Stadium, Halesowen will start on Friday 21st May 2004, and not
7th
May as advertised. As many may already know the track at Halesowen is
in
the process of being resurfaced. The contractors are scheduled to
finish
by 10th May. However the track will NOT be open for use until approval
has
been given.
The wearing course is being laid now but
must
NOT be used for riding without at least 7 days between completion and
first use. This is to avoid any damage to the surface caused by track
bikes with very narrow, hard tyres that would exert high point loadings
on
the newly laid surface, furthermore it is thought that it will be at
least
10 days after the completion of the surface until the re-lining is
complete.
Please check announcements on British
Cycling
Website and the BC Newsletter for any updates or changes to the above
situation. I would ask that you advise any other interested riders who
do
not have web access of the above changes. I can also be contacted via
the
details below.

Round 2 of
the
Trek 6,4,2 Enduro and NPS XC Series is being held in the scenic
surroundings of Drumlanrig Castle, just north of Dumfries in Southern
Scotland. Short Track
racing proved to be a big hit with the riders and crowds at round 1 and
should prove popular again this weekend. XC and Short Track racing will take place on
Saturday,
with the Enduro setting off at 10.00am, Midday and 2.00pm on
Sunday. On the day entry for the Non
Elite XC categories costs between £18.00 for the younger riders and
£24.00
for the older riders.
Entry
for the Enduro costs £23.00 for the 2 hour, £25.00 for the 4 hour and
£25.00 individually or £40 for a pair and £50 for a team in the 6
hour. Riders pre
entering
these events for rounds 3 and 4 can save a further £3.00 per entry and
a
further £5.00 for entering both days.
There have
been
changes to the late Summer rounds, so visit www.superseries.net
for
the new event details.
This social,
but challenging ride will take place this Sunday at Machynlleth,
Powys. On the day
entries
are available between 8.00am and 10.00am on the Sunday, so for further
information go to:

Now in its
second year, the Alpine Bikes World Cup Chaser, covers 7
different

This year there will be no clash with the
Guildford Criterium on 7th July (part of the National Circuit Race
Series
run by BC). In preparation for that event, the preceding two
Wednesdays will be pre-Guildford criteriums using the short, tight top
part of the circuit only (the bit the Youths usually use).
Participation
All riders, at whatever level, are welcome
to
attend and race. These events will only continue with good levels
of
participation, so please encourage others to come along too. The
events attract British Cycling and Surrey League points.
Prizes
Top prize in 2004 will be
a
made to measure Viner frame and carbon forks worth over £500.00!
We'll also have some backing from Allsports International Energy
Products
and maybe others.
Location
Eelmore Military
Driver Training Circuit is located on the A323 (Aldershot to Fleet
road)
approximately 1 mile outside of Aldershot on the left hand side.
There will not be any signs posting the event, but the circuit can
easily
be seen from the main road (A323). If in doubt, find the Airborne
Forces Museum with the Dakota aircraft outside and head towards Fleet
from
there, it is approximately 1 mile on the left hand side! Use this

number, the winner of last year's event will be called to the line by
