REVOLUTION SIX – MADISON LINE-UP LOOKING GOOD

Revolution 6 is living up to its name by bringing in some of the biggest stars of the European Six-Day scene to ride the event on December 4th at Manchester Velodrome. The highlight of the night will be a 20km Madison that will feature a host of international and domestic two-man teams. Already confirmed are Belgium team of Matthew Gilmore and Iijo Keisse, Scandinavian team Magnus Backstedt and Jimmi Madsen, on-form Dutch team Danny Stam and Robert Slippens and Swiss duo Franco Marvulli and Alexander Aeschbach. Among those taking them on will be GB pairing Chris Newton and Tony Gibb and two exciting young gun pairings, Mark Cavendish and Tom White, and Ed Clancy and Matt Brammeier. MANCHESTER CYCLING DEVELOPMENT GROUP

BIKES 'N' BITS - MANCHESTER, JAN 30TH

The traditional Bikes 'N' Bits cycle fair will be back for its 9th edition at the Manchester Velodrome on Sunday 30th January 2005.  One of the biggest events of its kind, the fair fills the large track centre area of the velodrome and is always a huge draw with cyclists from all over the North of England. Retail, club and private stalls are all welcome and although a "Track" venue, a lot of the goods on sale are from across all the cycling disciplines and from across the cycling aeons. Whether you're looking for a piece of the latest kit at a knock down price or a toggle chain for your Sturmey-Archer 3-speed, it's the place to be. GLENDENE CC /BIKETRAX (ESSEX) CYCLE JUMBLE

There's a Cycle fair & jumble organised by the Glendene CC /Biketrax on Saturday 4th December from 11am to 3 pm. Admission is a snip at £1. There's a cafeteria & bike parking and total of 44 stallholders selling old and new cycle related items. Venue is Navestockside village hall, off A128 Brentwood to Ongar road, Essex.

 

2004 GB TEAM BIKE SALE

The GB Cycling Team is currently selling off its 2004 Trek Road and Mountain bikes. For sale are used bikes, new/boxed bikes and some new frames. The Road Bikes are carbon-framed with Bontrager Race-X-Lite wheels and dura-ace 10 speed. The mountain bikes are top-spec Fuel and 9.8 models. There is a discount for British Cycling members on some stock. BRADGATE CHRISTMAS EVENT CANCELLED

Team Bradgate Christmas Road Race, scheduled for 27th December and listed in the Stop Press Section of the next Racing Calendar Magazine (due out next week) has been Cancelled.

 

NORTH MIDLANDS YOUTH SQUAD FIND NEW HOME

Go-Ride club, North Midlands Youth Squad, has at last found a new home at Wombwell Recreation Go-Kart track. Wombwell is situated about 5 miles South East of Barnsley. The club will meet this Saturday 20 November and again on Saturday 4 December from 10 am to 1pm. All riders under 16 years of age are welcome whatever their experience or ability. NEW DATE FOR CENTREVILLE CROSS

The ABC Centreville Cyclo-Cross postponed in October due to travellers on the site, has now been re-arranged for Saturday 18th December. The venue is unchanged - Bowlee Community Park, Manchester road, Bowlee, Heywood, but all start times will be one hour earlier than previously published for the original date: under-12s 11:30 am, Youth 12:15 pm, Sen/Jun/Vet/Women 1:00 pm. WEST MIDLANDS REGIONAL CONFERENCE

West Midlands Division are holding a conference on Saturday 11th December at the Earlswood Methodist Centre, Wood Lane, Earlswood (10 am start). It is aimed at current Organisers, Commissaires and Club Representatives. Its content will be aimed covering the impact of Regulation changes planned for 2005, whilst at the same time discussing the ever changing face of event promotion. In addition, initiatives to encourage a greater pool of event officials will be up for debate. LARGEST EVER SPORTS CONSULTATION LAUNCHED

Former Ministers for Sport, Lord Colin Moynihan and Kate Hoey MP, have launched a comprehensive public consultation on sport and recreation. Views are being sought from everyone involved in sport in the United Kingdom, from individuals and amateur associations to professional bodies and competitors. This unique web-based discussion is part of the Independent Sports Review which was launched this summer. The online initiative will directly help to inform the outcome of the Independent Sports Review and all those involved in sport are encouraged to express their views at www.independentsportsreview.co.uk - The review will cover all aspects of sport from the playground to the Olympics.
