WORLD CUP TICKET DETAILS

REVOLUTION SIX – MADISON LINE-UP LOOKING GOOD

The line-up of riders for Revolution 6 on the 4th December has been finalised, with Bradley Wiggins and Nicole Cooke two very exciting additions to the field. Bradley will be riding all the endurance events on the night and will team up with Rob Hayles for the Madison, which boasts some of Europe’s top pairings. Also confirmed are the Downing brothers who will be fresh from the Ghent 6. Nicole’s presence means that for the first time, Revolution organisers will be putting on an elite women's event, the Revolution Women's Points Race. The sprinters also have a packed programme, with MacLean, Hoy, Edgar and Queally among the riders taking on events such as the Keirin and the new 500m flying start team sprint. PRIME COACHING AT NEWPORT

Prime Coaching have put out a final call for riders for Prime Coaching’s “Dubble Bubble” session at Newport Velodrome on the 29th December.The first session for women only is from 2pm – 3.45pm, Sign on as Novice, Intermediate or Expert. Cost is £10 plus £6 for a hire bike if required. Entries specifying Novice/Intermediate/Expert to Jayne Toyne at mailto:miss.moneypenny@ukgateway.net  - the Second session from 3.45pm – 8pm is for  Adults and Youths at £10 and £4 respectively. Plus the same deal on the hire bikes. 2 for 1 deal means women who wish to continue on from the first session can do so FREE. NEW CYCLE SPEEDWAY TRACK FOR NEWPORT

Newport cycle speedway club are to begin work on their new circuit at Newport’s international sports village on Monday 29 November. The club hope to be training in February in readiness for their tour to Australia at the end of February to contest the British lions and World cup championships. Club secretary Colin Simmons is grateful to Newport city council for all their support with the development.

 

NECCA 'CROSS - CHANGE OF VENUE

28th November -North Eastern CCA Cyclo-Cross Round 4 - change of venue.

Round 4 of the NECCA Cyclo Cross League will now take place at a new venue in Hartlepool. Organised by the Stockton Wheelers CC it is a the Summerhill OutdoorCentre, Summerhill Lane, Hartlepool. The course designed by organiser Steve Noble, is a well known cross country running venue and will use varied terrain and possibly incorporate parts of the BMX track!

 

Directions: From A19 follow A689 towards Hartlepool. At the 3rd set of lights turn left (brown sign Summerhill) Next lights, turn right on to Catcote Rd and follow for 1.5m. After 1.5m, turn left into Summerhill Lane. Parking is in the car park at the top of the lane in front of the centre There is plenty of parking along with changing and hot showers. Thanks to the League sponsors (Science in Sport & Kinesis Bikes UK.) The event is British Cycling Cat B and will have a prize fund of £175.

 

SPORTS PERSONALITY – VOTE FOR A CYCLIST TODAY!

A shortlist of contenders will be announced during the Sports Review of the Year programme on BBC One on Sunday 12 December and viewers will be invited to vote for their favourite on the night by phone, text, or interactive television.  Among the other contenders for the award are Andrew Flintoff, Kelly Holmes, Amir Khan, Colin Montgomerie, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Matthew Pinsent, Wayne Rooney, and Tanni Grey Thompson.  On the cycling front, the Scots are also sure to add Aileen McGlynn to the list of contenders, whilst Darren Kenny should also figure for his stunning Athens performances. As an integral part of British Cycling’s club development and volunteer programmes, we have organised a series of workshops designed to equip your club officials and volunteers with the knowledge and skills that will help your club grow and develop.
