Somerset Road Club/The Bicycle Chain organised a 25 mile time trial on the A303 from Podimore, early on Sunday morning and won both the individual and team prizes.

Jon Wynn, one of the club's time trial specialists, justified his scratch seeding when he won the overall event. His time of exactly 55 mins edged in form veteran Terry Icke (Poole Wheelers) into second place with a time 55-07. Calm but chilly conditions saw 15 of the 31 finishers completing the 25 miles in less than an hour. Somerset RC secured the team prize (based on the total times of the 3 fastest riders), despite several of their regular riders being committed to marshalling duties and Andy Winterbottom organising the event. The times of other SRC riders were: Tim Reeves 58-29, Rick Johnston 58-31 and Mark Kurpyta 1-00-31.
