Early Sunday morning,
SRC riders were again in action at Buckfastleigh for the CS
Dynamo 25 mile time trial on the S4/25 course. The winner was
again Greg Sandy in 56 mins 9 secs but SRC rider, Andy Winterbottom, was
not far behind in third place with a time of 57.23. The conditions were
mild & still for the early starters with a SW wind picking up later
proving tougher for the later finishers. Other
times for SRC members were Tom Cox (59.34), Leigh Pinchen (1hr 1 min 6 secs),
Martin Pearse (1.01.26), Tim Reeves (1.02.01), Mark Kurpyta (1.05.11)
Meanwhile, SRC's youngest member, Torsten Junker, became Regional Mountain Bike Champion for the British Schools Cycling Association on Saturday in Abergavenny. It was his first ever Mountain Bike race so he rode brilliantly to win by a considerable margin. The hilly course was based on 2 laps of a 2 mile circuit across rough fields, through muddy gateways and across rock strewn streams.
