11th October 2002 - Time Trials
Kevin Sayles of Somerset Road Club was fastest veteran with a time of 60.10 mins in Weston Wheelers' 25 mile time trial on the Glastonbury based U27 course. In the 44-rider field, he was placed 7th overall and team-mate Martin Pearse (61.08) was third fatest veteran and 10th overall. The promoting club's John Hollier won with 58.29.
Near Poole in Dorset last Sunday, Somerset Road Club riders Dave Bentley and Tom Cox placed 6th in the VTTA 2-up 25 mile time trial in 56.29 mins.Forty pairs contested the event where one team rider had to be over 40, and the winners were Steve Walkling (V.C.St Raphael) and Pete Pickers (Northover Vets) in a quickish time of 53.25.
