There was a good turnout of Somerset Road Club/The Bicycle Chain riders, on Saturday afternoon, for Yeovil CC's 10 mile time trial on the Frome by-pass. Despite the blustery conditions Jon Wynn put in a strong performance to finish third, in a time of 21 minutes 49 seconds. From a field of 47 riders, Rick Johnston was 12th in 23.09, with Tim Reeves and Tom Cox finishing 13th in exactly the same time of 23.35. Not far behind were Mark Kurpyta in 24.16 and Martin Pearse in 24.26.
On Sunday, SRC riders Jon Wynn and Tom Cox travelled to Bournemouth for the Primera 2 up team time trial over 25 miles on the P413 course. Tom was riding for his main club, Northover Vets, and Jon and Tom were the fastest composite team in a time of 57 minutes and 6 seconds. The event was won by Chris Ball and Ian Ayliffe in 52.56.
