At the third of the Springtime Pursuits near Exeter on Saturday, there was a good showing for Somerset Road Club riders in the intermediate sprints (primes). Nick Mace won the first sprint after 9 miles, narrowly beating Jon Rawlings in second. Jon then won the second sprint after 18 miles. At the tough uphill finish, after 40 miles of racing, Alec Leslie was only 20 seconds behind the winner, and Jon Rawlings only 10 seconds down on Alec. Full race report

Despite the freezing weather, there was a good turnout of Somerset Road Club riders for the CS Dynamo 2 up 10 mile time trial on the Honiton course. Rick Johnston and Tom Cox won the composite prize, being placed 4th overall, in a time of 22 minutes 39 seconds. Times for other SRC teams were Tim Reeves and Mark Kurpyta at 23 minutes 56 seconds; Leigh Pinchen and Martin Pearse at 24.05; Jason Coles and Alec Leslie at 24.27; Johnathan Newby and Martin Hunt at 26.48.

The event was won by Greg Sandy and Gerry Bowditch in 21.04, riding for Team Alcan, from a field of 40 teams. Full report.
