On Wednesday,
SRC members finished as the first relay team in the Bath Amphibians Duathlon,
comprising a 2 mile run, a 10 mile bike race and then another 2 mile run. Tim
Reeves & Mark Kurpyta time of 46 mins 43 secs also put them 18th overall
from a field of over 200 competitors.
Both Tim and Mark were in action again on Saturday in the Okehampton CC 10 mile
TT held on the S40/10 course. Tim has been improving all season and recorded
a personal best of 21.39, placing him 8th. Mark recorded his second fastest
'10' time ever, finishing 14th in 22.19. The conditions were ideal, fabulously
warm with a slight breeze and the winning time was 20.45.
Also on Saturday SRC riders competed in the Frome & District 10 mile TT on the U369 course. Jon Wynn finished 4th in 22.20 and Rick Johnston was not far behind, at 23.08. Oliver Jones won the event in 21.19.
The last of the weekend races was the Mid Devon CC 25 mile TT on the S4 course near Buckfastleigh. Martin Pearse was the first SRC rider in 58.53, followed by Tom Cox at 59.13, Mark Kurpyta at 59.39 and Leigh Pinchen at 59.40.
