The Frome & District Wheelers 10 mile time trial was held on Sunday 20th February on the U369 course in cold and bright conditions. There was generally a tail wind on the return leg.

In the individual section, Rick Johnston finished in 25 mins and 2 secs. The 2-up section was won by Greg Sandy and Neil Coleman in 22-20. Tim Reeves and Mark Kurpyta finished in 24-35, Tom Cox and Kevin Sayles in 24-57 and Leigh Pinchen and Martin Pearse in 25-18.

Dave Bentley, riding in the SRC Bicycle Chain colours for the first time, excelled himself with a well deserved win in the first time trial of the season. The whole time trial was in doubt on a very, very windy, cold and wet Sunday morning at Plymouth. Some riders were not prepared to start in the potentially dangerous conditions.

Dave rode very strongly in the hard 15 mile hilly time trial, most of the time in a hail storm! His winning time of 32mins 27secs was too good for quite a few other specialist time trialists, including local favourite Shaun Childs from the Royal Navy, losing out to Dave by 12 secs for second place.
