Bunch sprint: The banking: The hire bikes:

Michael Dennis (a member of Somerset Road Club) is an ABCC Senior Coach and the BC SW Div Track racing co-ordinator.

Thanks to Mike for his report on the NEWPORT VELODROME (October 2003):

Having raced in the past two week's track leagues on the new track, I can confirm that it is a delight to ride. The lap is 250 metres like Manchester, but the bankings are configured more like Sydney track, coming to a peak at about one third of the way around, and staying high until two thirds. Manchester grades up to a peak at two thirds of the way around the bankings, and then throws the rider into the next straight steeply.
